Anusaya Sonawane, a poor woman from Dabhadi, while accepting an instant ration card from Tehsildar Nitinkumar Deore.
For the poor, getting a ration card is one of the most difficult and daunting tasks. It is a common sight at Malegaon Tehsil Office that the poor are often made to spend a lot of time to get a ration card.
“Besides, huge amount of money goes unnecessarily to the brokers and middlemen,” said Tehsildar Nitinkumar Deore who has now given clear instructions to the officials in the Supply Department to break this chain of brokers and agents.
Deore has appealed people mainly the poor to directly meet the employees in the Supply Department and take the ration card immediately after submitting the application for the same.
Sachin Patil, an orphan student from Dabhadi, could not hold back his emotions after getting an instant ration card for police recruitment.
Recently, Tehsildar Deore’s this pro-poor stance was proved right when two people contacted him with a request for an instant ration card. Anusaya Sonawane, a poor woman from Dabhadi, needed the ration card for a medical emergency in her family. Similarly, Sachin Patil, an orphan student from Dabhadi, needed it for police recruitment. Both were almost running out of time for their respective exigencies.
In just fifteen minutes, Tehsildar handed over ration cards to both of them. Supply Officer Prashant Kathepuri and retired Deputy Tehsildar R P Kuwar helped Sonawane and Patil get the ration cards on an urgent basis.
