The Nashik Rural Police led by IPS Vikram Deshmane outshone many of their peers in terms of performance in the CCTNS or Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems portal at the recently concluded Maharashtra State Police Duty Meet 2024 at Maharashtra State Academy, Pune.
The CCTNS or Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems is a common digital platform started by the Indian government under its amibitious e-governance or Digital India project. The portal aims at digitisation of all criminal records especially the First Information Report or the FIR.
The offences mainly the cognisable and non-bailable ones are registered at the police station in whose jurisdiction the incident of offence takes place. The officers such as Station House Officer (दाखल अंमलदार) and the Investigation Officer (तपासी अंमलदार) after registration of the report (FIR) upload the details on the CCTNS portal. This gateway serves as a digital bank for FIR related needs of lawyers and other stakeholders.
The Additional Superintendent of Police, Nashik Rural, IPS Aditya Mirkhelar; Additional Superintendent of Police, Malegaon, Aniket Bharati, and DYSPs incharge of all the Sub-Divisional Police Officers areas along with Police Inspectors of forty police stations ensured all the criminal records (FIRs) related to a Crime got uploaded on the gateway in a time-bound manner.
