Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while giving reply to a question over electricity supply raised by the Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat in the state assembly today.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said Maharashtra was the first state in the country to implement the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS). Fadnavis who also holds the Home portfolio said the CCTNS was set up for investigation, supervision and prevention of different types of crimes.
The CCTNS, a ‘Digital Police Citizen Services’ project, is managed by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) that works under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Fadnavis was speaking in the state assembly during the question and answer session.
To promote industries, Maharashtra was working on a New Logistics Policy for the state. For startups, Residential Training-Research Institute will be set up in Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai. Besides, a gems and jewellery park will also be set up there, Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra
He said the state government was now planning to implement the second phase of CCTNS or CCTNS 2.0. For the purpose the state was considering to expand its scope, he said.
State-of-the-art CCTV cameras in big cities
He added sophisticated CCTV cameras will be installed in Mumbai and other cities in Maharashtra. He said 1,406 highly sophisticated CCTVs will be put up in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Besides, the process of installing CCTV cameras in Baramati has already been completed, he informed the House. A large amount of funds has been made available for development of the Naxal-infested areas, Fadnavis said.
