Nashik Divisional Commissioner Radhakrishna Game.

As many as 2,097 cases of a total 2,173 received till February 10, 2023 by the Chief Minister’s Divisional Secretariat have been settled, Radhakrishna Game, Nashik Divisional Commissioner said while sharing a report card for the office.

With this, till the date under consideration, only 76 cases are pending for a final decision to be taken for them. While giving reason for such a high success rate of the CMO’s Secretariat, Divisional Commissioner Game said, “As soon as we get an application we try our best to take quick action on it and then give a redressal within one month of receiving it. In this way we are making it possible to give a fast disposal of written grievances.”

According to Game, the purpose of setting up of the CMO’s Divisional Secretariat was to lessen citizens’ miseries who previously didn’t have any other option but to travel all the way to Mantralaya in Mumbai to get their cases settled.

Deputy Commissioner (General Administration) Ramesh Kale has overseen the functioning of the CMO’s Divisional Secretariat as its incharge.

The CMO’s Secretariat at the office of Divisional Commissioner was started on January 20, 2020. Ramesh Kale, Deputy Commissioner (General Administration), has overseen its functioning as the incharge of it. While giving some statistics he said in the very first year the office received a total of 1,082 case of which only one was pending at the time of final resolution.

“At that time as many as 1,081 cases were settled since the time of its inception till December 31, 2020,” Kale said who added since then the performance of the Secretariat has been up to the mark. From January 01, 2023 to February 10, 2023, a total of 32 cases were received of which 11 regional cases are pending. In the months to come, the number of cases are likely to go up, he added.

Once the Divisional Secretariat receives the applications, it sorts them out in two categories viz government and regional. In majority of the cases the Secretariat gives resolution at the division level. “Only a few cases with particular grievances are forwarded above to the CMO’s Secretariat at Mantralaya, Mumbai,” Kale said.
