The Nashik Rural Police headed by Superintendent of Police IPS Vikram Deshmane on Saturday received 75 new two-wheelers to be inducted into the police unit that covers an area of 15,000 sq km. Of these, 45 Honda Shine bikes have been given by the District Planning Committee (DPC) headed by Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse by making a provision in the District Annual Plan.
While the remaining 30 Bajaj Pulsar motorcycles have been given by the Office of the Director General of Police, Maharashtra.
The new two-wheelers will help the police unit give a quicker response to people’s grievances especially to the Dial 112 calls by the citizens as well as enable the policemen on duty to reach to the remotest and highly inaccessible areas, said IPS Vikram Deshmane who did a relentless follow-up with the District Collector for induction of new motorcycles.
These vehicles will be useful during night patrolling, crime detection, naka bandi, and various types of bandobasts.

Besides, commissioning of these new vehicles holds much significance in the backdrop of coming into force of the three new criminal laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.
With a Superintendent of Police at the helm, the Nashik Rural Police has 40 police stations, eight offices of Sub-Divisional Police Officers and two offices of Additional Superintendents of Police.
As many as 3,500 police personnel including the senior officers, their subordinate colleagues and the rank and file work day and night to keep the law and order under control.
17 new recruits get appointment letters on compassionate basis
Apart from the inauguration and induction of 75 new two-wheelers, 17 new recruits to the Nashik Rural Police were given appointment letters on the compassionate basis.
Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse handed these letters of appointment to the respective candidates. SDPO Headquarters Nitinkumar Gokawe, SDPO Nashik Rural Bapurao Dadas, Police Inspector District Special Branch Vijay Kare, Police Inspector Local Crime Branch Raju Surve, Police Inspector District Traffic Branch Datta Chaudhari, and incharge officers of police stations and their subordinate colleagues were present.
