About Us
The Voice of Malegaon is an independent media organisation based out of the textile town of Malegaon in North Maharashtra, India. It is neither funded by any big corporate house nor propelled by any power-wielding individual. It’s just a journalist’s bold attempt to dream big and break through the opaque wall of stereotypes. Ashfaque Ismail, its Founder and Editor-In-Chief, firmly believes in India the local issues plaguing a small town like Malegaon usually get neglected by the mainstream media organisations. These issues sadly do not get the kind of media coverage that they actually deserve.
Unfortunately, a city like Malegaon despite having witnessed rapid urbanisation, especially over the past decade, does not have a strong media house of its own. This leaves a huge gap between the general public and the authorities, depriving the town’s population of a rightful hearing. This also causes trust deficit between the two. With an aim to bridging this gap in its crosshairs, The Voice of Malegaon has embarked on a journey to feel people’s miseries, raise them with the powers that be and at the same time pursue its dream of growing into a major media house in the region.
Started in October 2020 with an internet edition, The Voice of Malegaon also aims to spread its tentacles across other forms of media mainly the print and bring the textile town to the mainstream’s fold as far as giving the town a proper media coverage was concerned. The website’s sole purpose is to keep the masses informed of the current happenings through impeccable and flawless pieces of reporting.
