At Quresh Jamaat Khana, a community centre, Additional SP Aniket Bharati asked all the stakeholders to work as a team for maintenance of peace and tranquility.  

A little over a week ahead of Eid-al-Azha and Ashadi Ekadashi celebrations,  Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP) Aniket Bharati has set in motion the entire police machinery under his jurisdiction for keeping the law and order intact during the two festivals. On Tuesday, Bharati presided over more than four corner meetings and one community interaction.

He said since the afternoon he was on the ground along with his colleague police officers holding interactions with people and sensitising them about cooperation with the police during such times. At Quresh Jamaat Khana, a community centre run by the butcher community, Bharati engaged with all the stakeholders and made an appeal to them to obey the law, especially during festivities.

People should celebrate these festivals by harbouring mutual respect for each other and each other’s faith. Besides, it’s an appeal to our Muslim brothers to give the sacrifice of animals that are permitted under the law and maintain cleanliness in their vicinity during the transport of animal residues, Addl SP Aniket Bharati

Assistant SP Teghbir Singh Sandhu who is holding the charge of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Malegaon City Sub-Division, and SDPO Malegaon Camp Sub-Division Pradipkumar Jadhav along with the police inspectors of all the seven police stations accompanied these senior officers.

Bharati conducted corner meetings with Peace Committee Camp Division members at Krishna Hall, community interaction at Quresh Jamaat Khana, another corner meeting at Mushawrat Chowk, the site of 2006 Malegaon bombings, and yet another corner meeting at Nehru Chowk. 

While speaking to The Voice of Malegaon Bharati said, “We make an earnest appeal to the people in Malegaon to not fall prey to any rumours and also stay miles away from rumour mongering as these are highly sensitive times. People should also avoid an uninhibited use of social media and stay away from posting objectionable status updates on WhatsApp as such offences attract serious charges under relevant law.”
