More than just taking a whole lot of public services to the door of the general public, the ‘Government At Your Doorstep’ pro-citizens initiative rather aims to empower the common man so that in the future they do not face difficulties in having access to these services, said Sub-Divisional Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vijayanand Sharma on Thursday.
Under the ‘Government At Your Doorstep’ campaign, the Revenue Department has been holding awareness-cum-service delivery camps once in a week since April 15, 2023. This special drive will be conducted till June 15, 2023. SDM Sharma said these camps are being held in different parts of Malegaon Taluka on a weekly basis. “At these camps citizens can avail off almost all the key services delivered by different departments in the state,” he said.
Tahsildar Nitinkumar Rajaram Deore lists out benefits of the camps being organised under the ‘Government At Your Doorstep’ initiative. Around 250 officials from different government departments took part in the meeting. Besides, beneficiaries were also called in to hand over to them different certificates.
At these camps, the Revenue officials are also distributing documents like caste, income and domicile certificates to the applicants. In the past, such camps were organised in Jhodge and Vadner-Khakhurdi villages, Sharma said. “We got tremendous response there. Citizens turned up in large number to learn how to get an access to these services,” Sharma said.
While speaking at the meeting, Tahsildar Nitinkumar Deore listed out different types of benefits citizens are getting from these services. Deore further informed in the next week on May 18, 2023 his department will be holding a day’s camp in Saundane, a village around 16 km from Taluka headquarters. Officials of all the departments like revenue, police, corporation, school education etc were present.
Block Development Officer Bharat Vende, Deputy Tahsildar Ramesh Khaire, officials of the police department, representatives of power company and Malegaon Municipal Corporation (MMC) and Aadhaar Centre operators with their kit took part in the session. Both Sharma and Deore distributed documents like income and other certificates to the applicants.
