A village-level committee has been formed to monitor the day-to-day performance of the highly-publicised Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana in rural areas. The scheme announced in the state’s Additional Budget 2024-25 guarantees Rs 1,500 per month financial assistance to each and every eligible woman in the age group of 21 to 65 years.
In Nashik district alone, around seven lakh applications have been received. This is because of the district administration’s effective implementation of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana and a huge response from the applicants. Around 4 lakh applications were received via offline mode and 3 lakh were received via online mode. Going ahead, this number is surely likely to go up, Tahsildar Nitinkumar Deore
Several committees at the state, district and local level have been formed for a hassle-free implementation of the scheme. At the municipal corporation level, a committee with the Ward Officer at its helm has been formed. On July 15, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nashik Zilla Parishad IAS Ashima Mittal at a meet held via a video conference gave clear instructions to the officials present to set up such committees at the village level.
At the village level, a seven-member committee will keep a tab on the day-to-day working of the scheme. The Gram Sevak will be a part of the panel as the Coordinator while Anganwadi Sevika will be the Member Secretary. Besides, there are five other members who will be part of the village-level committee namely Agriculture Assistant, Talathi, Asha Sevika, Cluster Resource Person, and Rural Employment Servant.
