Originally, the ‘Govt At Your Doorstep’ event in Nashik city, for the entire district, was supposed to take place on July the eighth as per the state’s plan. But due to some unavoidable circumstances, back then the event had to be pushed ahead by a week on July 15. On July 8, it was instead held in Gadchiroli.

Merely four days before the event, Nashik Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse today convened a high-level meeting at the District Collector’s office, especially for the stock-taking. Bhuse also assessed all the agencies’ readiness for the event and gave them clear instructions to work for the grand success of it.

Against this backdrop, The Voice of Malegaon reached out to Tehsildar Nitinkumar Rajaram Deore who in a one-on-one interaction with its Founder and Editor-In-Chief Ashfaque Ismail gave some interesting facts and figures underlining his administration’s preparedness. Excerpts;

Q: At the outset let me begin with this question. Were you and your staff part of today’s meeting called by the Guardian Minister?

Ans: Yes, we were part of the meeting. But the thing is that we were present in the meeting through a video conference. Other Tehsildars in the district were also present, digitally though. Prant Saheb (SDO) were also there. The meeting under the honourable Guardian Minister took up for discussion important aspects concerning the ‘Govt At Your Doorstep’ (शासन आपलया दारी) event. The Guardian Minister has given all of us a clear instruction to work for grand success of the event.

Q: In what way you are going to contribute your part?  How many staff have you pressed into service for fulfilling the targets you might have been assigned to fulfil?

Ans: Frankly speaking on some days we are working late into the nights to ensure that we do not miss a single important aspect to avoid landing ourselves in any difficult situation, and subsequently ending up doing facepalm. We are taking care of each and every aspect with utmost alertness. Our staff at the Tehsil office is working in close coordination with other agencies concerned.

Q: Could you give us numbers giving details about your staff, number of beneficiaries, etc?

Ans: As many as 120 staff working under the Tehsil area have been put on a special duty to ferry the beneficiaries coming from the nearby villages to the venue in Nashik. A whopping 10,000 beneficiaries in the Taluka are going to benefit from the initiative. Out of these, many are going to avail different government services in the presence of honourable Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse.

Q: How these beneficiaries will be taken to the venue? Is there any plan in place to tackle any kind of medical urgency?

Ans: We have made an arrangement of forty state buses that will be plying from the Tehsil office on the College Road here to the venue in Nashik. The staff appointed to ferry beneficiaries will also bring these passengers back with them. Besides, in order to face and tackle any medical urgency we have also made an arrangement for a First Aid facility. The First Aid will be administered by Health Volunteers who will be accompanying the beneficiaries during the journey. The state buses will leave from Tehsil office at 7 am on July 15.
