The court of Hon’ble S B Bhajipale, Ad Hoc District Judge I and Assistant District Judge, on Friday convicted an accused in an eight year old case filed at Satana Police Station (146/2015) under Sections 353, 332 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to the prosecution, on June 3, 2015, the victim Police Havaldar Prabhakar Murlidhar Sonawane was on night duty and was patrolling the streets in the area assigned to him.
At around 11.30 pm, on reaching Captain Anil Pawar Chowk, Havaldar Sonawane heard loud band music sound, which was coming from a marriage bureau office. The cop then confronted the occupants and asked them why they were playing the band so loud and so late at night? The accused Anil Keda Pakade came forward and told the policeman to let them play two to three more songs.
Additional Public Prosecutor Advocate Sanjay Kautik Sonawane said Pakade even went on to brazenly say that who had given him (the police) right to stop the band? He (Pakade) manhandled the policeman and grabbed him by the collar, APP Sonawane said. Investigating Officer Himalal Gosavi conducted a thorough probe in the case and filed the Final Information Report in it.
While Pairvi Adhikari Krishna Godse assisted the prosecution from day one of the case being brought on board, Police Inspector Sandeep Randive of Satana Police Station extended his valuable guidance to Godse. If the convict fails to pay the fine, he will have to undergo a prison term of four months, APP Sonawane said.
