Finish up pending SIR works as claims, objections deadline closes in: ERO tells AEROs
ERO Nitin Sadgir with his deputy Mukesh Hiwale today conducted a review meeting with all the AEROs to assess the ongoing SIR related works and fix a timeline to complete them.
Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Nitin Sadgir, who is also the Electoral-roll Registration Officer (ERO) for the 114-Malegaon Central Assembly Constituency, has asked all the Assistant EROs to speed up pending Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-related works as the deadline for claims and objections was closing in on fast.
A day earlier the Election Commission of India (ECI) extended the deadline for filing of objections and claims to October 26. With this, the last date for resolving the claims and objections has also been pushed to November 10. According to the new timeline, the final voters lists or electoral rolls will be published on November 16 after a thorough scrutiny of objections, claims and applications for corrections and addition of new or old electors.
ERO Nitin Sadgir has directed the AEROs to keep the given timeframe in mind and get to work accordingly. Sadgir has given clear instructions to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to undertake house-to-house visits to serve notices to electors.
We appeal electors to submit the relevant document to BLOs without wasting time as the SIR was in its final stage. Besides, AEROs have been asked to carry out these tasks by keeping in mind the deadline and in accordance with the ECI’s guidelines, ERO Nitin Sadgir
The voters who were ‘un-mapped’ or whose details show discrepancies in name, age, etc. are being given notices. As a remedy to this, BLOs have been asked to upload relevant documents in ECINET app and hold hearings in exceptional cases.
The election authorities here have emphasized electors who have received notices underscoring their status as ‘un-mapped’ or citing discrepancies in name, age, or other details have been urged to submit necessary documents to their respective BLOs
Once voters submit the required documents on time, the BLOs will upload them in the ECINET system, Sadgir said. The ERO has appealed citizens not to ignore these notices as by doing so their names might be omitted in the final electors’ list. “We appeal citizens to ensure they submit the documents within the stipulated timeframe,” he said.
