Lately, Dr Advay Hiray-Patil has emerged as a promising youth leader in 115-Malegaon Outer Assembly Constituency with his popularity among voters soaring day by day. (Picture: The Voice of Malegaon)

The court of Judge S B Bahalkar, District Judge I and Additional Sessions Judge, on Saturday rejected anticipatory bail plea of Dr Advay Hiray-Patil and his close aide Lucky Ramesh Khairnar and two others in a case filed at Malegaon Camp Police Station (CR No I-48/2023) against them under Sections 406, 420 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

However, the court extended the interim protection granted to Dr Patil, Khairnar and two others Riyaz Ali Khan and Manjit Shinde till May 15, 2023 giving them more time to pursue the case legally.

In the case, an educated youth alleged in the First Information Report (FIR) filed on March 30, 2023 that the duo, one Riyaz Ali Khan and a teacher Manjit Shinde cheated him and committed a criminal breach of trust.

He alleged they demanded Rs 18,00,000 and took the first installment of Rs 10,00,000 from him on a promise that they will be giving him a teacher’s job at a school affiliated with the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Mandir (MGVM) but never fulfilled this promise.

Dr Patil is on the Trust of MGVM that runs a mammoth chain of educational institutes in Maharashtra.

This is the preliminary stage of the investigation, therefore, at this stage, the court is not supposed to go into the question as to whether or not, the informant had capacity to raise such huge amount of Rs 10,00,000 and even, at this stage, the court is not supposed to give finding on that aspect, Judge S B Bahalkar, District Judge I and Additional Sessions Judge

For the said vacancy, the youth claimed he approached Khairnar, Khan and Shinde along with his acquaintances Sanjay Panditrao Sonawane, Anil Suryawanshi and Ravindra Keda at MSG College.

They met Khairnar and Khan at Dr Patil’s office on the premises of MSG College, Malegaon Camp, he alleged. He also alleged on February 02, 2023 he handed over Rs 10,00,000 to Khairnar in presence of Dr Patil at the latter’s office.

After that Khan told him that within three months he will be getting a call from MGVM for the job but that never happened, the youth further claimed.

However, Dr Patil has vociferously denied these allegations saying that the said case against him and his associates was politically motivated and being pursued with some ulterior motives harboured by his adversaries.

Dr Patil claims Sanjay Panditrao Sonawane is a hardcore supporter of his arch political rival and Nashik Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse. Dr Patil indirectly blames Bhuse for his indictment.
