The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Nashik has taken into custody Nilesh Shankar Kapse, a Copy Clerk working with the Land Records Office Nashik, for accepting Rs 40,000 bribe, Additional SP Narayan Neyahalde said Monday.
While giving more details about the episode, Addl SP Neyahalde said the complainant had approached the Accused Public Servant (APS) with a plea to prepare a rough map of his father’s agricultural land by dividing it into four sub-parts.
For each part, the APS demanded Rs 10,000 bribe, according to a press note issued by the ACB. “The APS was supposed to do this division after taking measurement of the Gat No concerned and then draw clear demarcations (land marks) on this land parcel,” Neyahalde said.

After the APS demanded money for his “personal hard work”, the complainant got in touch with ACB Nashik that then formed a squad and also laid a trap. The APS was caught red handed while accepting Rs 40,000 bribe at the office of Deputy Superintendent, Land Records.
The APS has been booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Superintendent of Police, ACB Nashik, Sharmishtha Gharage-Walavalkar oversaw the entire operation while Addl SP Neyahalde guided the team that laid the trap. Police Inspector Sandeep Ghughe is doing the further investigation.
The jurisdiction of the ACB, Nashik Range includes areas under direct control of the Revenue Commissioner, Nashik Division, he added.
