Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Bipin Kumar Singh has been appointed Additional Director General, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Maharashtra State. Singh was waiting for a new posting since December 14, 2022 when he left the office of Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner and passed the baton to IPS Milind Bharambe.
Apart from Singh, eight other senior IPS officers were waiting for a new posting since last year. The list includes IPS Prabhat Kumar who has been given the charge of Additional Director General and Deputy Commandant General, Home Guards, Maharashtra State. Similarly, IPS Vinit Agarwal has been given the role of Additional Director General and Chief Vigilance Officer, MHADA.
IPS Rajkumar Vhatkar, another senior officer in queue for a new posting, has been given the charge of Special Inspector General, Training and Special Squads, Maharashtra State. IPS Jai Vasantrao Jadhav will be holding the responsibility of Special Inspector General, Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission.
IPS Quaiser Khalid has been named Special Inspector General, Motor Transport, Maharashtra State. Khalid will be stationed at Motor Transport’s headquarters in Pune. IPS D K Patil Bhujbal has been elevated to Special Inspector General, Crime Investigation Department, Maharashtra State.
IPS S H Mahavarkar has been sent to Nanded Range as Deputy Inspector General of Police. IPS Abhijit Suresh Shivthare will be holding the responsibility of Assistant Inspector General, Law and Order, at the office of Director General of Police, Maharashtra State. All these senior officers were waiting for a new posting for quite some time now.
IPS Purnima Chougule-Shringi who up till now was Deputy Commissioner, Nashik City, has been given the charge of Deputy Commissioner under Mira-Bhayandar-Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate. From the State Police Service, officer Rahul D Khade has been posted as Additional Superintendent of Police, Jalna. Khade up till now was Superintendent of Police, Crime Investigation Department, Amravati.
