The Deputy Regional Transport Office (Dy RTO), Malegaon has launched a new number series MH-41BL exclusively for the Light Motor Vehicles (LMV), Dy RTO Vinod Jadhav said on Tuesday. Jadhav added those who want an attractive or a number of their own choice for their LMV can get in touch with the Dy RTO office for details.
“For getting the attractive number, all they need to do is just fill up a prescribed form and submit it on April 03, 2023 from 11am to 2.30pm at the Dy RTO office,” Jadhav said. The aspirants need to pay a prescribed fee, details of which have been put up on the notice board at the Dy RTO office.
According to Jadhav, the scrutiny of the applications received will be done based on Rule 4 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 and Rule 5 of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
For the choice number, applicants need to deposit the stipulated fee in the form of a demand draft issued in favour of Dy RTO Malegaon by a nationalised bank. Along with the DD, they are required to attach a self-attested copy of their PAN card, Vinod Jadhav, Deputy RTO, Malegaon
“The applicants should attach a self-attested copy of proof of address and proof of identity at the time of submitting the application,” Jadhav added.
Aadhaar card, electricity bill preferably not older than three months and house tax bill will be accepted as valid proof of address. Remember that the proof address must be in the name of the applicant.
Similarly, self-attested copy of PAN card, voters’ ID card, passport etc will be accepted as valid proof of identity, he added.
What if more than one application is received for the same choice number?
Dy RTO Jadhav said suppose if more than one application is received for the same choice number then the applicant can pay an additional fee and lay a claim on the said reserved number. “This additional fee should be paid in the form of a DD in a sealed envelope on the second day that is April 04, 2023,” Jadhav said.
Once a choice number is allotted to an applicant, he or she can neither cancel nor change it, he added.
